About Chris, a portrait artist based in Sutton Coldfield in the West Midlands.
Here’s a bit about me: I have been painting and drawing since I was a child and still love the magical process of bringing my subjects to life on paper or canvas.
After a few years away from the easel, 10 years ago I rediscovered my love of painting. After much encouragement from family and friends, I have finally been persuaded to start my own business and am very proud to have set up ‘Chris Scott Portraiture’.
I paint and draw pets and people. Being a dog owner myself, I know and appreciate how much a pet is a member of the family. It is a privilege to produce an original artwork of a loved pet, living or sadly no longer with us. Art is timeless and there’s no better way to keep memories alive than to capture a subject in a painting.
I’ve enjoyed painting many portraits of celebrities in the past, including Dame Judi Dench, Elvis Presley, Rock Hudson and Ella Fitzgerald.
My own artistic interests are wide and varied: I am a huge fan of Caravaggio and have painted imitations of several of his works. I love religious art and the work of the pre-Raphaelite artists.
